Our calendar fills quickly, so we ask that if you are interested in taking a Spirit Walk in 2026, contact us to request to be on the notification list.

Please be sure to add “peyoteway@gmail.com” to your contacts list. We want to be sure you receive all correspondence from the Church.

In 2026, we suggest a Spirit Walk minimum donation of $900-$1000.

As in previous years, we will not request Spirit Walk donations until about two months before the scheduled date.

Please consider leaving a legacy in a will or trust to support the Church’s continued work.

The Spirit Walk is a Solitary Experience
We have found, from unhappy experience, that a friend or partner can unintentionally interfere with a companion’s Spirit Walk. The presence of another person can be a distraction from prayer. Should a couple wish to partake of the Holy Sacrament together, we recommend they take a vow of silence for as long as the spirit is upon them. We urge non-Spirit Walking companions to seek lodging nearby in Safford or visit our local hot springs. Some ideas: Essence of Tranquility, Roper Lake State Park, and Aravaipa Canyon. There are also several motels in Safford close to grocers, restaurants and other services.

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors
It has been proven that selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) prevent individuals from receiving the full benefit of the Holy Sacrament Peyote. Therefore, we suggest you confer with a doctor before changing your medications.

Cancellations
Please understand that you are not paying for a “retreat” or a “service” but donating to further the cause of religious freedom, awareness, and mindfulness. The Church is a nonprofit organization that relies on donations, and your contributions make a difference. Think carefully before scheduling or making your donation. We consider all financial gifts to be donations in support of the church. If you intend to make a sizable donation but also anticipate participating in a Spirit Walk, please view it as non-refundable, similar to any other nonprofit gift. To be fair to those who provide adequate notice or report unexpected calamities, we offer refunds upon timely notification of cancellations. However, last-minute cancellations adversely affect the many seekers who wish to join and will not be refunded.

Make sure to bring with you the directions for finding us and a hard copy map. Phone service can be unreliable in our remote Aravaipa region.

Spirit Walks are by appointment only. Our schedule fills up quickly, so please contact the Church well in advance of your desired Spirit Walk date. 3-day slots are usually available Thursdays through Mondays, March 1 through October 31.

Step 2: Contact us at peyoteway@gmail.com with the dates that you are available, and we’ll schedule your reservation.
